Do you know what the gulls are doing?

They stamp on the ground to trick worms into thinking it's raining and that (for some reason) makes them come to the surface to get eaten? Or is that a myth?

No, absolutely correct.
I don't know why worms come to the surface when it rains. But what I do know is that when I was going fishing I would go out into the garden the night before with a torch and within 10 minutes could fill a bait box with worms. I assume they were attracted by the dew.
